I love designing. Taking an idea and transforming it into something visual is beyond satisfying. For me, designing for work is enjoyable because I’m creating something that the client
needs. However when I’m designing for myself it isn’t about need, it’s just about want. What do I
want to make? I don’t have to answer to anyone other than myself so I have total creative freedom (which is both a blessing and a curse), and left to my own devices this is what I will design.
So I created my Etsy shop:
seriouswhims.etsy.com as an outlet for my “for fun” designs. Then I thought it would be nice to be able to have a place to talk about my designs, the crafts I’m interested in (e.g. sewing, knitting, jewelry making, etc.) and any other random tidbits I find amusing—so I started this blog.
